Summer Reading Challenge 2025
It's almost that time of the year again! The Summer Reading Challenge 2025: Color Our World is set to begin June 2. Stay tuned as more details are to be released throughout the month on our social media.

Join us for a fun afternoon as we eat snacks, do activities, conduct experiments, and watch short videos related to the historical events of the book. This month's book is I Survived the Children's Blizzard, 1888 by Lauren Tarshis. You do not have to read the book ahead of time, but it may help when we discuss it. Enjoy free play with wooden blocks, Lincoln Logs, magnetic tiles, Keva planks, carboard bricks, Mega Blocks, and other toy construction materials. It's play time!
Here's a tip: Talk to your children about what they are building as they learn early STEM skills and build new vocabulary.

Read with Betsy the Therapy Dog!

Is your child reading but needs to build their confidence? Meet Betsy, a certified therapy dog that would be more than happy to listen to any story told to her. She's sweet, lovable, and would never judge! Sign up at the circulation desk or call Ms. Anna at (317) 984-5623 Ext. 3006 for a spot. Walk-ins are welcome, but will have to wait for an opening.

Bring your bike and helmet. Learn safe ways to travel on bike path trails. Then, gear up for an obstacle course challenge that will build your riding skills! FREE bike helmets provided by Bike Safe Indiana while supplies last! Registration required. Register here. Please note: a helmet must be worn and a waiver must be signed to participate. Join us to watch anime, eat snacks, sketch your favorite anime and manga characters, discuss your favorite anime shows/movies and manga books, and make suggestions for our collection! Vote on what we'll watch during our next meeting. The library has a premium Crunchyroll subscription with over 2,000 titles and 50,000 episodes to choose from! This program is for teens only. More Storytime fun is happening in May! Come join us Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the month for some entertaining storybooks, songs, and rhymes. Please note: There will be no Storytime May 1 and May 27-29.

We will be learning to make Magic rings through online tutorials. Magic rings are the easiest way to learn Amigurumi. We still have some old projects for anyone to pick up if you are looking for a challenge. *The May 26 meeting is cancelled.

Though books are made from trees, unfortunately, water is no longer beneficial to them. They get wrinkled, musty, or moldy when exposed to water. Please be a lifeguard and keep your books away from liquids. Thank you!
