What's happening at HNPL in September 2025?

Hello patrons! Renovations continue throughout September, but we still have programs and services to offer in the meantime. Learn more about these upcoming events, programs, and opportunities by exploring each one below. We hope to see you in the mini library!

Library Card Sign-up Month

September

September is Library Card Sign-up Month! A library card offers you access to a plethora of perks, such as borrowing items, access to databases, and much more! The best part? If you live in Jackson Township, you can get a library card for FREE! If you or anyone you know needs a library card, stop by and sign up for one!

Lost your card? No worries! Throughout the month, HNPL is offering free replacement cards. Stop by the circulation desk before the end of the day on September 30 to replace your lost card.

Meet Miss Jackie!

Hamilton North Public Library would like to officially introduce our new Youth Services Manager, Jackie Mantel! Miss Jackie is looking forward to meeting everyone during Storytime at Cicero Christian Church next week. Mr. Kit-Kat, the storytime assistant, is also eager to meet everyone. Next time you're in the mini library, make sure to say hi!

Friends Bake Sale

September 1 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM | Red Bridge Community Building

Life is about to get a lot sweeter! Head into the Community Building at Red Bridge Park during the Car Show to pick up one of your favorite treats. Cake, pie, cookies, yeast rolls, various breads, and more. Yum! Proceeds fund special events and the Summer Reading program.

It's homemade goodies for a good cause.

Mini Library

The mini library is officially open! Patrons can browse through a limited selection of books, DVDs, board games, and other items when they visit. Can't find a certain book? No problem! Ask a staff member for help. Technology services are also available.

We’re back to our regular hours. Stop by and say hello!

Storytime

Storytime returns this September! Come join us Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the month for some entertaining storybooks, songs, and rhymes.

Rooted in Art

HNPL Friends of the Library's biggest fundraiser ever has kicked off! Paint a small 4"X4" tile and it will become part of this beautiful 8'x8' mosaic mural.

Your painting kit is $25 and includes everything you need - tile, paint, brushes, and ideas!

Visit us on Saturday at the Cicero Farmer's Market - or visit the library - to purchase your tile painting kit and join us on this incredible journey to raise money for our library art programs and Makerspace.

Cyanotype Printing

September 25 | 5:00–6:00 PM | Library Pavilion | Ages: 12+

Print using the sun! Use cyanotype printing to imprint the outline of the object(s) of your choice on a pretreated paper. With a little bit of time and sunlight, you’ll have a blue-tiful work of art! Registration required.

Mystery Book Club

September 29 | 3:30–4:30 PM | Picnic Table Area

Come join us for the monthly Mystery Book Club meeting! New members are always welcome. We will be discussing Joshilyn Jackson's The Almost Sisters. Hope to see you there!

Mocktails & Booktales

September 30 | 5:30–6:30 PM | Picnic Table Area

Come join us as we converse about books we are reading, while enjoying some non-alcoholic drinks and appetizers. This month's book is Finley Donvan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano.

HNPL Knitters

Mondays

10:00 AM–12:00 PM | Adults

A group for beginners and experienced knitters of all levels. Bring your knitting, crochet, cross stitch, and other yarn projects and work on them with others in this cozy community. Don't have a project? No worries! We will get you started on one. There is room for everyone of all experiences!
