What's happening at HNPL in August 2025?

Hello patrons! Thank you for a successful Summer Reading! The library might have limited services while renovations are going on, but that doesn't mean there won't be events and programs sprinkled throughout this month. Learn more about these upcoming events, programs, and opportunities by exploring each one below. We hope to see you in the mini-library when it opens August 12th!

Mini-Library

Hamilton North Public Library will open back up in the form of a mini-library in the Jenkins Meeting Room starting August 12th. A limited selection of items will be available to check out. Technology services will be available. 

Until then, we will be doing curbside pickup for items placed on hold. Call (317) 984-5623 when you arrive.

Rooted in Art

HNPL Friends of the Library's biggest fundraiser ever has kicked off! Paint a small 4"X4" tile and it will become part of this beautiful 8'x8' mosaic mural.

Your painting kit is $25 and includes everything you need - tile, paint, brushes, and ideas!

Visit us on Saturday at the Cicero Farmer's Market - or visit the library - to purchase your tile painting kit and join us on this incredible journey to raise money for our library art programs and Makerspace.

Mystery Book Club

August 25 | 3:30–4:30 PM | Picnic Table Area

Come join us for the monthly Mystery Book Club meeting! New members are always welcome. We will be discussing Stuart Woods' Orchid Blues. Hope to see you there! 

Mocktails & Booktales

August 26 | 5:30–6:30 PM | Picnic Table Area

Come join us as we converse about books we are reading, while enjoying some non-alcoholic drinks and appetizers. This month's book is Educated by Tara Westover.

Plein Air Painting

August 28 | 5:00–6:00 PM | Library Pavilion | Ages: 12+

Join us as we take advantage of the summer evening to paint in the great outdoors behind the library. Paint the landscape around you or choose your own subject matter to decorate your canvas. Easels, chairs, canvases, paints, and paintbrushes will be provided, but you're welcome to bring blankets or anything else to make yourself comfortable while painting.

HNPL Knitters

Mondays

10:00 AM–12:00 PM | Adults

A group for beginners and experienced knitters of all levels. Bring your knitting, crochet, cross stitch, and other yarn projects and work on them with others in this cozy community. Don't have a project? No worries! We will get you started on one. There is room for everyone of all experiences!

Tip of the Month

With school over and no homework for your dog to eat, please make sure your pets don't make your library books their next target. Books and pets don't mix well, so please keep your borrowed materials out of their reach.
